Today, our state-of-the-art diesel and petrol Ingenium engines deliver world-class efficiency, performance and reduced emissions. These clean technologies offer enhanced fuel economy that benefits both customers and the environment.  

The Ingenium engine family is based around a modular, flexible and scaleable all-aluminium design with common design features: this benefits quality, cost efficiency and manufacturing flexibility. All petrol and diesel variants use the latest fuel injection, turbocharging and emissions control technologies to deliver outstanding performance with low CO2, NOx, and meet the most demanding regulations worldwide.

We have already cut CO2 emissions by more than a third over the past decade and are taking the steps needed to deliver the required 45 per cent reduction in European fleet average tailpipe CO2 emissions to meet 2020 targets.

Designed, engineered and manufactured in-house, we offer a choice of three, four, and six-cylinder engines and electrification in the form of fully electric, Mild Hybrid Electric Vehicle (MHEV) and Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) technology systems. We are on track to fulfil our commitment to offer electrified options for all new vehicle models from 2020.
