THE ROAD TO DESTINATION ZERO
Jaguar Land Rover is on a journey to Destination Zero – a world of zero emissions, zero accidents and zero congestion. Our ambition is to make our societies safer and healthier and our environment cleaner through relentless innovation, adapting our products and services to the rapidly-changing world around us.
We are moving from ICE to ACES – the world of internal combustion engines will give way to autonomous, connected, electrified and shared cars. Today’s industrial revolution will be driven by demand for decarbonisation, better air quality, less waste and greater convenience, through automation and innovation.
A SUSTAINABLE AND SMART WORLD
To shape this new sustainable and smart world, we are investing in an electrified industrial footprint, every new Jaguar Land Rover model line will be electrified from 2020, giving our customers even more choice and creating cleaner, more connected cities. Modern clean, efficient combustion engines have significantly reduced emissions and will continue to play a role as we transition to a future world of electric mobility.
In the last 10 years, we have halved the CO2 emitted per car across our vehicle range. We are closing the loop on our use of materials, ensuring that we minimise waste and get the most use, re-use and value out of the precious resources that help us to build every Jaguar and Land Rover product.
We adopt circular economy principles throughout our product creation processes, with active reuse and recycling and the application of innovative sustainable materials as we strive for zero waste in manufacture.
Today, we are transforming for tomorrow. Our vision is a world of sustainable, smart mobility. We must create a world in which we will all live safer, better, lives.
CLEANER, SAFER, SMARTER MOBILITY
Our customers’ needs and lifestyles are changing, and society faces a host of challenges from climate change to population growth. To tackle the issues, we must constantly innovate – with smart, connected, advanced vehicles to provide increasingly sustainable and efficient choices.
Carbon Neutral Manufacturing
The way we make our cars is as important as the way we design and engineer them. By focusing on leaner manufacturing, energy efficiency and using renewable electricity we have reached our goal of carbon neutral manufacturing in the UK.
By taking a scientific approach to the waste problem, we are creating ways to use materials more sustainably. For example, through increasing use of recycled materials and by turning waste into usable products, all our vehicles are designed to be 85% recyclable and 95% recoverable at the point of dismantling.
