Building Hope School & Classrooms in China

...with China Youth Development Foundation

In China, Jaguar Land Rover are working in partnership with The China Youth Development Foundation (CYDF) - the top NGO in China responsible for children and youth development.

With 38 regional youth development foundation branches around China, the CYDF run the most influential public welfare programme with the most participants in China:Project Hope

Helping communities in areas worst-hit by earthquake.

Following a magnitude 7.0 earthquake that rocked Ya'an in Sichuan Province in April, Jaguar Land Rover in China pledged a three million RMB donation towards disaster relief in Ya’an. Our dealer Shun Bao Hang also donated one millionRMB.

In line with our long-term commitment to the local community, we evaluated a number of proposed projects to ensure that donations would be used in accordance with reconstruction needs.

We plan to support the rebuilding of the Hope School located in the quake’s worst-hit area. The school will benefit more than 400 students, with a 2,200 sq.m newly-built teaching building. Foundations are due to be laid in June 2014, with completion scheduled for September 2015.

In addition, 20 JLR Happy Sports Classrooms withbasic sporting equipment and teaching materials willbe built in other primary schools within the earthquake-hit area. This is designed to support the emotional recovery of children affected by the earthquake.

We are committed to making a positive contribution to society. Through our Global Corporate Social Responsibility programme, we are Advancing Knowledge and Improving Lives with investment in health, humanitarian and environmental projects. Ultimately, our goal is to bring positive change to the lives of 12 million people worldwide by 2020.
